The Brady Bunch

Ok guys, recently there has been a slight debate over a simple question.

"Who is a better quarterback: Tom Brady or Peyton Manning?"

My bias is obviously noted in whose name I typed first, but I can support my answer.

To start off, I will ask a few questions.

Who has won more Super Bowls?

Who has more Super Bowl MVPs?

Who has the record for the most TD thrown in one season?

Who has the hotter wife?

Boom, Roasted.

PS: All my other competition has dropped out, so I win by default.

All you can support your argument with is the fact that Tom Brady's team has done better.
Over the past 8-9 years, the Patriots have won more Superbowls. But the truth is the reason they have won so many is because of the strength the Patriots defense. a better defense better field position, more time of possession, and more of a chance to get the ball in better field position. Brady's had so much better of a line to protect him, and so many more offensive threats than Peyton has ever had. To this I say, if you flip-flopped the quarterbacks teams, Peyton would do much better in New England, than Tom would every do in Indianapolis. The truth is that there is simply no way to argue it differently.

That's why, teams aside, the man with the hot wife, Tom Brady will never ever do as much with so little as Peyton has done in Indianapolis.

So while Peyton keeps on racking up MVP awards, Tom can comfort himself with the fact that hey, at least he beats Peyton in something, hotness of his wife...

  5. Tom Brady was drafted in the 6th round of the NFL draft. He played behind Drew Bledsoe, and took the reigns when he went down before the Super Bowl. He has been with the Patriots his whole career. He leads his team to victory after victory. Comeback after comeback. Super Bowl after Super Bowl. He is a leader. He has many more comebacks than Manning, a better record, and has more modeling contracts.

If the Colts and Patriots traded QB's, it woud be pathetic. Tom has a good relationship with his team, they want to follow him. That is one of the main reasons for success, teamwork and desire to win. Tom would not fit in in Indy, and Manning would be disliked in NE.

    To be continued...

  6. First of all, on all three of Tom's Superbowl victories, it was Adam Vinanteri's strong leg that won them their superbowls. All three of his kicks were ones that could be easily missed. Almost all of their superbowl victories have been close games that were decided by the strong leg of Adam Vinateri.

Even as ESPN analysts state in this interview: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2885497
    Peyton is more knowledgeable.
Now I must say, if you follow the link, one of the analysts says that if it's all about winning, then Tom Brady is your guy.
But it's not about just who's won more, it's who is a better quarterback.

My inclination as neither a Colts nor Patriots fan goes to Peyton on his style of play. I just feel he is slightly more quarterback-like than Tom Brady.

As you can tell we could probably go on arguing for years about this, and no one would change each other's mind; barring an 0-16 season by either the colts or patriots. We'll just have to wait until this year's AFC Championship game when the Colts and Pats battle it all out.

  7. First of all, neither the Colts or the Patriots will make it to the Championship game. < Big scary prediction.

As far as I can tell, the QB's job is to lead the team to victory. Who cares about stats? They don't win games. Brady has excellent leadership and has led his franchise to more Super Bowls.

Are you really saying that Vinateri won the Super Bowls for that Pats? Ridiculous.

Every time Adam had a winning field goal, it was set up by a classic Tom Brady winning drive.

This was written a few years ago, before Tom's beast seasons:

In defense of Brady, they say "But there is far more to quarterbacking than surrounding yourself with hall-of-fame talent and tossing a record number of touchdown passes."

Well, Tom has a record number of TD passes, and hall-of-fame talent.

We could continue to throw links at each other from various sports analysts, proving each QB is better than the other, but that would get old.

We'll just have to wait until this year's AFC Wild Card game when the Colts and Pats battle it all out.
